Option to increase your cover for chemotherapy

You can upgrade from the ‘Chemotherapy for cancer’ benefit to Cancer Cover Plus. This gives you a higher level of cover for costs associated with chemotherapy treatment, including for chemotherapy drugs that are not Pharmac approved but are Medsafe-indicated. Cancer Cover Plus upgrades are fully underwritten, regardless of any pre-existing condition concessions. Eligibility criteria apply. Only available to purchase where all members on a policy are under 60 years old.

Extra cover options

Alongside your UltraCare 400 plan, you can add extra cover that provides a lump sum payment for serious illnesses or trauma events. Each can provide extra financial support during a tough time:

Option to reduce your insurance premium with an excess

Adding an excess is one way you can reduce your premiums. The excess only applies to surgical procedures, chemotherapy (including Cancer Cover Plus) and radiotherapy. You don't need to pay the excess when claiming on other benefits of the policy UltraCare 400 offers an excess option of $500. Excess applies to each person covered under the policy and is only payable once each claims year.
